A wide array of metal-heads showed up to ACL Live this past Saturday to pay homage to one of the innovators of trash metal, Megadeth.

Even though fellow headliner, Motorhead, canceled due to health issues (Lemmy is 66 cut him a break), Dave Mustaine and company rocked a variety of songs from their large discography. Lead guitarist Christopher Broderick has been a recent addition to the band and he fits like a glove. For me, he sealed the deal while playing Holy Wars to perfection with a twisted smile of his face and headbanging with the rest of us. Opening acts Volbeat and Lacuna Coil both played crisp and heavy sets. I imagine they’ll be headlining a tour of their own sometime soon. Overall, I left 2nd and Lavaca sweaty and satisfied. Thank you Gigantour. Thank you Megadeth.
