Austin’s favorite annual, self-guided art tour is back! The 2017 EAST Austin Studio Tour, hosted by Big Medium, will feature over 500 participants, including 241 artist studios, 66 galleries, 155 temporary exhibitions, 26 happenings, 10 libraries, and 7 schools.
Essentially, the nonprofit EAST Studio Tour works to foster the artistic space in Austin, as well as create an inclusive environment between artists and the community. The free, walking tour spans over the second and third weekends of November (11-12th, 18-19th). In addition to attending and buying from the events, tourgoers can support Big Medium by patronizing the EAST Pit Stops – local bars and restaurants donating a portion of their weekend sales to Big Medium.
For an overview of tour stops and a schedule of events, you’ll need to grab an EAST Catalog or check out the online version. Artist catalogs are available now at 23 local Austin Public Library branches, so grab one and get to planning your own unique EAST Austin Studio experience! Need a little help mapping out the tour?
