    Bubbles and Bulldozers

Oh! This is a champagne tour and dining experience (from Gusto Italian Kitchen) and the public’s first opportunity to see behind the construction fencing at Kingsbury Commons, Pease Park Conservancy’s $15M, seven-acre project to create a world-class public green space at the southern tip of Austin’s first and oldest public park. This year's event spans six days and features multiple time slots each day. "This approach allows us to maintain the in-person energy of an event and the excitement of a private tour of this inspiring project – all while maintaining social distance with groups of 10 or fewer." Yes, but those slots are filling up f-a-s-t, citizen! And you can do this in-person ($125) or virtually ($50), and the noms are always included. Serving suggestion: Click on over and grab yourself a time!
    Oct. 12-17. $50-125.

National Pizza Month with Hoboken Pie

Did you know that Hoboken Pie, the popular local bastion of Jersey-style pizza, is offering 25% off all pizzas ordered online or through the Hoboken Pie app, throughout October? They are – just remember to use the promo code PIZZAMONTH and you'll knock a quarter off your price and give them something to smile about. Because, says co-founder Matt Getchell, "We’ve really felt the power of community this year," and they wanted to express some gratitude. Cheers!

    Pig Week 2020

OK, so Pig Week is actually seven weeks, during which Central Texas Pig Rescue's compassionate small-business friends will be offering specials, with proceeds going to the CTPR Expansion Project. Check the calendar, follow CTPR's social media, and sign up for the newsletter to get reminders and updates. Then, simply indulge in your local faves like Rebel Cheese, Plow Burger, Bouldin Creek Cafe, and more, and share on Instagram by tagging @centraltexaspigrescue and the business' account using #pigweek2020 to be entered into raffles. It's an excellent way to "swine and dine," if you will, for a great cause.

    The Gramercy: Grand Opening

Now here's one "grand opening" that may actually be as grand as that overused word implies: An upscale eatery known as The Gramercy – yes, kinda sorta historically related to the Gramercy in New York – is opening in the Oaks at Lakeway shopping center. This new bar, lounge, and restaurant is a project by proprietors Suzanne and Billy-Joe Hunt, who've recently moved to this area, who've designed the venue with "a 1920s sort of elegance" to provide "a comfortable and relaxing refuge for its guests, with an emphasis on community. There are a wide variety of seating options throughout the space, both indoor and outdoor with safety in mind. The menu presents elevated takes on classic American bar food, including steak frites, sliders, brick chicken, and a Texas-sourced kielbasa with house mustard." Stylish, you know? Classy. Maybe leave the gimme cap at home when you step into this place to give it a look-see and sample those elevated takes, OK? Consider wearing your Armani mask, and tip well.
Grand opening: Fri., Oct. 9, 4pm-1am
