Stop by your nearest Mattress Firm to donate new, unwrapped teddy bears, stuffed animals, and other bedtime toys for foster youth in the Austin community.

The 36th annual exhibit incorporates ofrendas, Día de Los Muertos-inspired art, a section dedicated to Mexican revolutionary leader Emiliano Zapata, mojigangas from the museum’s Viva la Vida Parade & Festival, and an art installation by Yocelyn Riojas and Jerry Silguero.

The hotel is raising money to purchase and donate rocking chairs to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas. Lone Star Court’s restaurant, the Water Trough, will be featuring specialty cocktails throughout the month and will donate 30% of drink proceeds to Ronald McDonald House.

The local video store is collecting canned goods to donate to a local cause. Plus special sales, giveaways, music from DJ Slugoo, and free VHS slasher film screenings all month long.

Anyone who donates, or attempts to donate, will receive a $10 Pinballz Play Card.

Folks who donate at least twice between Sept. 1-Nov. 30 will receive a Sustaining Donor card for an exclusive T-shirt that can be redeemed at the end of November.

The youth services nonprofit is in need of tutor and enrichment activity volunteers on Mondays from 4-5:30pm or 6-7pm.
