When dealing with HIV or AIDS it’s often difficult to remember all that is
needed to take care of your children’s needs, in addition to taking care of
yourself. Parenting with HIV/AIDS is a support and educational group for
mothers and fathers who are dealing with HIV/AIDS and are taking care of their
young children and infants.

The group will offer information and speakers about child development, medical
care, nutrition, legal issues and grief, in addition to topics that you would
like to talk about. This group is unique because we also offer support and
discussion of these topics within a supportive environment of parents who are
experiencing similar issues.

Parenting with HIV/AIDS will meet for six Saturdays, March 2-April 6
from 10-11:30am, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 209 W. 27th St.

The group is free and confidential. Facilitating the group are Jennifer Sauter
and Amy Pierce, Social Work Interns, supervised by Margaret Kelbaugh, LSW; and
Lois VanLaningham, LMSW-ACP. The group is sponsored by Austin/Travis County
Health and Human Services Department and People’s Community Clinic.

This is an excellent opportunity to meet friends who are experiencing your
same issues. Food and drinks provided. Please call and leave a message to find
out more information: Jennifer at 502-4970 or Amy at 469-6256. (Child care and
transportation may be available with advance notice).
