A very short column this week. We have stacks of mail, most of it about the upcoming election, and we’ll try to get as much in as possible.

Last week in Will Wynn’s ad, due to some production changes, we inadvertently left Robin Rather’s name out of the list of those endorsing Wynn. We heard rumors that some thought this was intentional because we had endorsed one of Wynn’s opponents. Utter nonsense and a bit insulting; the problem was a production mistake. We apologize to the Wynn campaign.

Please be sure to vote “yes” on Propositions 1 and 2 affecting AISD and state education funding. The wording may be misleading, but if these propositions are defeated, the commissioner of education gets to permanently take some of Austin’s taxable real estate off local tax rolls. Vote “yes” on both propositions.
