USE US UP Gang, we can not emphasize enough the urgency with which we issue this plea: Please send us your events listings directly! As in: Email us directly, please! Your 500 Facebook friends are all well and good, but our potential 90,000 direct hits of paper, a couple hundred thousand estimated paper readers, and additionally mind-blowing online potential are lonely without your blurb, your info, your deeteroonies; throw us a frickin’ bone. Your friendly neighborhood Gay Place is invested in its self-image as humble servant of the people, seriously. It’s all we got. Just inviting Dandy Unicorn to your events on the Place of the Face is not enough. We do scour those, but golly damn, have you ever tried to build a data file out of that ding-dang proprietary piece of user-unfriendly ugmo? Yuh, we know from copyright protection, but we fear that most folks do not realize how limiting in scope social media can be. Your information wants to be free, not to preach to the choir. Let us in on the action directly. Please, baby, please, baby, please, baby, make our job a wee bit easier in the process? It’s so simple, even a tick on your caveman’s wolf cub’s haunch can do it. Just send the who, what, where, when, why, and how way before the Monday before the issue you want it in, to gayplace@austinchronicle.com. Include a nice note. Talk about the weather. Ask about our grandchildren. We don’t care. Just send us the info, please.

Send gay bits to gayplace@austinchronicle.com.
