BESOS Y QUESO Here’s what the Los Angeles Times says: “Anthony concocts such sizzling sexual chemistry with herself you forget there’s only one person on stage.” Aside from that happening to me every night, I was just thinking the same thing: Adelina Anthony is a stunner. Both on- and offstage. Here’s the Los Angeles Times again; it can’t help but use words like “seductive,” “deft,” “uproarious,” “heartfelt,” “riveting,” “striking,” “simmering.” Geeeeez, Los Angeles Times, tell us how you really feel. Aside from those 50-cent toss-offs, we humble Austinites offer: “penetrating,” “slinky,” “corporeal,” “scandalous,” “cuddly,” “hotsy-totsy,” and “freaktastic.” Here’s the thing about L.A.: They may use 50-cent words, but audiences have to pay $20 to see Anthony perform there. Here in Austin, this week, you can see her, courtesy of the UT Gender and Sexuality Center, for free. Free! Do not stroll. Do not lollygag. Race your fine bootay over to the Texas Union Ballroom, and catch this rubber-faced divinity while she is still within reach of mere mortals such as us. (See Community Listings.)
