There have been such advances in treatment for HIV disease and AIDS in the last two years that keeping up with the latest information is a challenge, but on Thursday, August 20, one of the nation’s foremost authorities will address a community forum in Austin.

Martin Delaney, director of Project Inform, will discuss information presented at the 1998 World Conference on AIDS held recently in Geneva. The program will be in McFadden Auditorium at Seton Hospital, 1201 West 38th Street, from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

The program is designed for people who have HIV, plus caregivers, friends, and family who would like to know more about HIV-related medications. The interested public is invited as well. Topics will include:

  • When to start treatment

  • How to maximize treatment effectiveness
  • Strategies to overcome treatment failure
  • New treatments
  • Looking into the future …

The program is presented by AIDS Services of Austin and the HIV Wellness Center, with support by Project Inform, a national treatment advocacy group based in San Francisco.

A light buffet will be served, so RSVP will be appreciated. Call
458-AIDS or 467-0088 for more information or to RSVP.
