Are you an adult (18 or older) who has been diagnosed with HIV or AIDS? Have you found yourself feeling alone and/or isolated as you try to deal with the many ways that HIV affects your daily life? Are you searching for a place where you can share and explore this struggle in a way that feels both safe and authentic?

If so, Waterloo Counseling Center’s new HIV Support Group may be for you. This ongoing group for both men and women provides members with an opportunity to share their experiences of living with HIV in a safe environment and to draw strength and support from one another. The group is co-led by Heather Davies, LMSW, and Derek Leighton, counseling intern, two of our therapists who specialize in grief and loss.

Meetings will be Wednesdays, 5:30-7pm at Waterloo Counseling Center, 3000 S. I-35. Fees for the group are on a very affordable sliding scale.

New members are currently being accepted. For more information or to schedule an initial interview, call 444-9922 x204.
