The foremost tool to have in fighting HIV is information, whether someone is newly diagnosed or an old hand at treatment, an HIV-infected person or a care provider. The year’s first opportunity to advance that education process will be offered on Thursday, Feb. 10, as ASA launches its 2005 Dining With the Expert series. The topic: “Meet Your Permanent Life-Partner – HIV.”
HIV doesn’t have to define a person’s life, but as in any relationship, there are “whats, whens, and whys” to keep in mind. The program will cover HIV basics, emphasizing current research. Treatment theory will be surveyed, again with an eye to the latest information.
The evening’s presenter will be ASA education coordinator Sandy Bartlett, a veteran of almost 20 years in HIV/AIDS education.
Whether you just want to brush up on HIV essentials or arm yourself to go talk to those folks making AIDS policy decisions at the Capitol this spring, this is your chance!
The evening will begin at 6pm with a light supper, and the presentation will follow from 6:30 to 7:30pm. ASA is located at 7215 Cameron, just north of St. Johns, a block behind John Reagan High School.
