As its next HIV education program, AIDS Services of Austin is offering another free Lunch With the Doctor on Thursday, Dec. 4. Dr. Bob Wallace will be here from Dallas to talk about current developments in treatment, plus a look at what to expect coming out of the pipeline in the future. It will be an excellent opportunity to learn what amazing things medical science can cook up — and what the downsides are — both for poz people who are just beginning to explore their “lifetime partnership” with HIV and those who are already facing treatment challenges.

With almost 20 years experience treating HIV, Wallace is one of the most-respected physician-presenters in the country, much in demand for small client talks like this one, as well as for major professional conferences. Presently, he is associate director of medical affairs at pharmaceutical manufacturer Gilead Sciences.

The presentation will be given in English, but simultaneous translation will be provided for Spanish-monolingual attendees.

Lunch with Dr. Wallace will begin at noon on Thursday, Dec. 4, at ASA, 7215 Cameron (just north of St. Johns). The event is free, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Gilead. Seating is limited, so an RSVP will be appreciated; call Tim at 406-6118 or e-mail tim.byrne@asaustin.org.
