Project Transitions Invites You to Party at Oilcan’s

The question is often asked, “What can I do to help?” Currently, one really easy answer is, “Help out by having a good time at a fundraising event!” One upcoming event will help raise money for the programs of Project Transitions, which provides helpful housing for people with AIDS and a residential hospice for those who are reaching the end of their journey.

This Friday, popular gay bar Oilcan Harry’s is holding “Red Hot Eleven” to raise money for Project Transitions. Red Hot, now in its 11th year, will feature a fabulous silent auction from 5 to 9pm, free buffet, happy-hour drinks until 10pm, performances by Momma’s Boyz, and dancing ’til dawn. At the door, there is a suggested $5 donation to Project Transitions (feel free to give more!); individual cash sponsorships are also available from $25. Red Hot Eleven will be Friday, July 19, 5pm to 3am at Oilcan Harry’s, 211 W. Fourth Street. Call 320-8823 for details.

Last year’s Red Hot X raised more than $15,000 for Project Transitions. Now, could helping Austin’s folks with HIV/AIDS be any easier? Enjoy!
