The David Powell Clinic provides medical care for HIV positive individuals in Travis County and nine surrounding counties.

Currently, there are over 1,300 patients receiving care at David Powell.

The Clinic is moving at the end of July to a much bigger facility, The David Powell Public Health Center, set to open August 2. It’s located at 4614 North I-35 on the west side of the interstate at 46th Sreet, in the old location of the Blackstock Clinic.

The David Powell Clinic operates under the city of Austin’s Health and Human Services Department and provides primary medical care to HIV-infected individuals in all stages of HIV disease. The new facility features much more space for care, doubling the current number of exam rooms and also providing a full-service pharmacy.

This is great news for our community. Thanks to the city of Austin for recognizing the need for expanding HIV medical care and purchasing the building. For more information about the clinic, our services, or the move, please call 469-7200 in July. Effective August 2, the new telephone number of the David Powell Public Health Center will be 380-4300.
