Qmmunity: Give, Queerly

Then get fancy with Fat Bottom Cabaret and prepare for The L Word’s return

Just like that, the holiday season and its twinkling lights are back in full swing, and every media outlet from here to there has gift guides aplenty. Of course, so do we – Qmmunity and the Chron (the whole issue is worth a flip through). But I like to think we're extra special cuz at Qmmunity we – and I mean WE – work extra hard to make sure our gift guide not only encourages gifting while queer for the queers lighting up your life, but is also supportive of the many fabulous trans, QPOC, and LGBTQ artists, healers, pathmakers, and business owners doing and making cool shit locally. Of course, we know money can be tight this time of year, so we've kept that in mind with low-price offerings and experience-focused suggestions, but we also know that keeping our cash in the qmmunity keeps the whole bunch of us thriving and jiving. In short, in our 2019 Gift Guide (online) you'll find gifts made for queers (and allies if yer so inclined) by queers – most right here in, or coming to, Austin. However, blame it on this year's 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, but 2019 also gifted us with so many amazing books – from histories to memoirs to fiction and poetry – that each of us couldn't help but include our very favorite books and most coveted histories. They're not all local (though most of them can be purchased at ye local feminist and queer-owned bookstore BookWoman), but trust us – they're worthy of gifting, even if it's self-gifting or we-giving. So from all of us to all of you – happy giving.
