Forget Halloween weekend, here in Austin we go full throttle all week long. Like a well-crafted horror film, this weekend raises your adrenaline one night at a time, just to slow it down come Sunday. Whether you let your guard down or not, this weekend the queers of ATX get extra fantastical.
Friday: Indulge in alliteration tonight with the Weird City Sisters’ FEARce Friday folderol. From the fab performers to the interactive activities – we’re talking AIDS testing and spanking booths here – this Queerbomb fundraiser is sure to spike the nerves. In the best way possible, of course.
Suggestion: Get into the thrill of it, and come as you aren’t.
Saturday: If you love zombies as much as we love zombies, PFLAG’s event Saturday night will win you over in four words: Queer Zombie Pub Crawl. That’s right, combining the most comforting with the most terrifying… plus alcohol.
Suggestion: Get some zombie inspiration, and hit the pubs for this PFLAG fundraiser.
Sunday: After a month’s hiatus, Lesbian Wedding once again descends on Sahara Lounge. Between the waffles, the women, and the karaoke – what’s not to love on a Sunday afternoon? We promise, nary a zombie in sight.
Suggestion: Operate smoothly and take the after party to Girlfriend’s Sade Sundays. It’ll wind you down.
Not enough? Check out The Gay Place, and follow us – Where The Girls Go/ATX – for all yer queer grrrl updates.
