The air is electric with change. As the season shifts, the leaves crunchify, and it gets chilly, it seems the LGBT movement is entering a new season as well. A new, purple season.
Just in case you haven’t heard, Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is on its last legs. Federal judge Virginia Phillips issued a worldwide injunction stopping enforcement of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy last week. In a total cock blocking move, the Justice Department is seeking a stay in the ruling. Also, The Pentagon is warning homosexuals in the military not to get ahead of themselves in this “legally uncertain environment.”
In local news, virtually every LGBT organization in town is participating the Vigil in Purple on Wed., Oct. 20, at 6:30pm in front of city hall. The Gay Place will be there and would love to see you out. They need volunteers, as well. If you’re having trouble with any sort of bullying, or anything really, this is the place to find some support.
