LCD Soundsystem may have played their final show (ever!) April 2 at Madison Square Garden with the track, “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down,” but theGlitoris is here to rejuvenate those soggy melons, and put some pep into your step: Click your heels twice and say, “New York, I love you but you’re killin’ my mind!”

“Mindkilla” is the newest single from New York-based Gang Gang Dance (we prefer “Gang Bang Dance,” but we didn’t have a say). The track breaks us out from our Brooklyn blues and gets the booty poppin’ just right. “Mindkilla” starts off small and simple, then intricately builds upon itself layer by layer. You can almost feel the glitter landing on your shoulder pads by the last chord and when it ends, you’ll want so much more. The waves of percussion in this track remind me of the genius that was LCD Soundsystem.
GGD established themselves in 2005 with, God’s Money, which was heavily noted for its experimental sound and compared to the likes of Animal Collective. The four piece band consists of Lizzi Bougatsos, Brian Degraw, Josh Diamond, and Jesse Lee. The unique vocal stylings of lead singer Bougatsos reminds me a lot of Karin Dreijer Andersson of The Knife/Fever Ray.
Eye Contact is the forthcoming fifth studio album from Gang Gang Dance, and is due out May 10 on the UK label, 4AD. Download this track, and many more on my site & look for Eye Contact in mid-May!
