Here's to the sound of two glasses clinking together.

Tonight is New Year’s Eve and I have the bubbly to prove it.

Just started to watch the entire downtown transform into a parade of pigs (police everywhere, careful, my little designated drivers) and fashionable families, all ready for some art, some celebration, and that Weird thing Austin keeps claiming. First Night. Go. See. A bike circus at Auditorium Shores. Black eyed peas. And solidarity, my brothers and sisters.

I’ll be doing a night-away-from-downtown’s-packed-intensity, even shirking off my favorite hip hop group ever, Yo Majesty, playing at Beauty Bar with my boy DJ Orion doing what he do. Bright shining lights, they are, but a packed bar … nuh uh. Not for this guy.

So, relaxed champagne sipping it is. A few friends. a few microphones for rapping. A few plastic cups filled at the trusty keg. And this breath of fresh air, a new year, a new start, tomorrow. Take time to reflect and think about all that we have learned and grown from this year, and take it with you. Every day.

Every single day.

Life, ’tis beautiful. Happy New Year, everybody. Be safe and well.
