Which way to Foodies?

Women who love women who love food love Foodies Sixth Birthday and an ASA fundraiser, to boot.

Yup, Foodies is Six! Happy birthday, Foodies! And to celebrate, they hearken back to the tradition established on one of their first food-finding outings back in the day: They go to dinner during AIDS Services of Austin’s Dining for Life. This year, the party is at the Clay Pit tonight (Tuesday) at 6:30pm, and 15% of the night’s total goes to the AIDS Services nonprofit.

For $25 (with tax & tip included, that’s a deal) revelers will sidle up to a specially created buffet just for this celebration. Here’s the menu:

Green salad

Whole wheat pasta salad

Seasonal fresh fruits

Yellow lentil soup

Cream of corn soup

Vegetable samosas

Dhingri matar paneer (mushrooms, peas, and cheese)

Saag aloo (spinach & potatoes)

Fresh mix vegetables

Curries chicken with whole green beans

Mahi & coriander sauce

Tandoori chicken

Dessert: Hot gulab jamun & mango kheer

I was allowed to sample this smorgasbord and can attest to its overwhelming yumminess.

Oh, and of course, a dozen dozen or so of some of the loveliest ladies this side of the Rio Grande. Yeehaw. Wouldn’t be a Foodies without ’em.

Women, you know you love to eat out, so why not make your entire Tuesday an ASA’s Dining for Life day by checking their list of participating restaurants!
