Grrrrrr!

All weekend it’s Austin’s attack of the bears! Just a click or two through our Gay Place online calendar listings proves it, what with the Hot Bears UnRun, the release party for Nakia‘s CD release, and Sunday night’s regular weekly Chub Chaser Cub Experience (free food!) at the Rainbow.

Bears (other than Nakia) have been making news. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently purchased a handsome bronze bear statue for the front of his office in Sacramento. It’s a double-edged tribute: The population of bears in the wild has dwindled in California… San Francisco notwithstanding.

Basically, Arnie paid out of pocket for the bronze bear, with the idea that kids who visit the office would like to have their picture taken with it. This is certainly a turn-around for the Governator, who has had quite a history with bears in his past.
