    Austin Under the Stars

    For more than 20 years, Austin's Astronomical Society has gathered under the night sky with their high-powered telescopes. On this evening attendees should be able to view Jupiter and Saturn, and perhaps even faraway galaxies if the weather is cooperative. The Texas Museum of Science and Technology also will be on hand with a portable planetarium.

    Brown State of Mind University

    BSMU offers a four-course roster of classes centered around cultural contributions of minority groups in America, from Nas' Illmatic to Xicanx culture in Austin. The instructors include nonprofit workers, graphic designers, actors, and UT graduate staff and faculty members. (Courses are not redeemable for academic credit.)

    This annual gamer fest hosts three days of esports tournaments, cosplay competitions, live music, and film screenings, plus a 24-hour LAN party. There's big prize money to be won, and DreamHack has pledged at least $100,000 to Save the Children.

    Drumsistas Annual Benefit Concert

    Led by Sherry Gingras, the 30+ all-women African Drumming group will perform a full program of hand-clapping, heart-pounding, foot-stomping African music. Funds raised will be donated to Posada Esperanza, a transitional housing program for immigrant mothers and their children.
