    Turtlemania

    In celebration of World Turtle Day, buy a Hops & Grain River Beer in a souvenir pint glass and proceeds go to the Turtle Survival Alliance. The TSA's turtle research group will be on-site both days, and you can observe them as they go about their work humanely capturing local turtles, gathering data, and releasing them back into the lake.

    Brown State of Mind University

    BSMU offers a four-course roster of classes centered around cultural contributions of minority groups in America, from Nas' Illmatic to Xicanx culture in Austin. The instructors include nonprofit workers, graphic designers, actors, and UT graduate staff and faculty members. (Courses are not redeemable for academic credit.)
    Classes begin May 22-June 5. Free.

    Computer Basics Classes for Adults

    Austin Free-Net and Southwest Key Programs is offering a basic skills computer class (May 8-24), including how to use a desktop computer, the Internet, email, and word processing programs. Classes are offered in English and Spanish. Free child care for kids ages 3-12 is available during classes.

    Flatwater Foundation Fundraising Events

    For one month leading up to Tyler's Dam That Cancer, FF's annual paddleboarding fundraiser, you can help support the cause in other ways. Attend a happy hour at YETI on May 17, or get a new hairstyle at Benjamin Beau May 20 or June 17. Blenders & Bowls Give Back Days are May 20 and June 17. (See the Facebook page for more info.)
