Thaddeus Davis

Born in Montgomery, Ala. Studied with Montgomery Civic Ballet and the Carver Creative Performing Arts Center, then after high school, with Atlanta Dance Theatre and Tuskegee Cultural Arts Center. Received his BFA in dance from Butler University. Has worked with Indianapolis Ballet Theatre, Fukuoka City Ballet, Atlanta Dance Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Complexions, Fugate/Bahiri Ballet NY (Dance Galaxy), and Donald Byrd/The Group. Residencies include the Julliard School, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Butler University, and Arizona State University. Named one of Dance Magazine‘s “25 to Watch in 2002.” Recipient of the Choo San Goh Award for Choreography for 2003.

In The New York Times, Jennifer Dunning has written that Davis has a “gift for unobtrusively imaginative choreography that flows in a seamless, stylized whole.”
