We know, we know, the Chronicle has traditionally begun accepting submissions for its annual Short Story Contest at Texas Book Festival time, and that’s passed with no word on the contest. Well, as the staff thought about this year’s contest being the 25th, we decided to commemorate it in a special way and needed some extra time for planning. So we’ve shifted the opening date for submissions to Jan. 10, 2017, and the deadline to Feb. 28. We’ll select the finalists in May and publish the winning stories in a special Books issue in June.
