While we love the right kind of asymmetry, the very idea of a
skort has always seemed adverse to looking good. The name itself is mullet-like – styled in the front, ignored in the back, like Eighties sky-rise bangs: big promises in the front, then the grim reality from behind. Then we were clued to this offering from
Zara.
With an asymmetrical, apron-like front that flatters every leg ($49.95), it’s no wonder these are all over offices, baseball games, and nights out, nationwide. Judging from the street looks we’ve ogled, they look terrific on everybody, and with anything you happen to have on. You can literally remove your present bottoms, and replace them with one of three colors, making them our Leggo Look of the summer. Snap on, snap off, to counter heels, boots, Chucks, you name it.
Below are just a few of the hundreds of street looks we’ve seen. Order while sizes last, and enjoy them well into November. In fact, around here, we’ll be wearing them again next summer. To note: the size runs a bit small, so err to the large, and go for it.
