* SAT, OCT 19: Austinite Bradley Denton signs his newest release,
Lunatics, at Barnes & Noble (Arboretum), 1-2pm…. Barnes &
Noble (Westlake) celebrates the grand opening of The Village at Westlake
shopping center: At 1pm, children’s author Allison Klassen reads and sign her
two books, Less Is More and I Did It! At 2pm, mystery author Neal
Barrett will sign his latest novel, Skinny Anny Blues. And at 4pm,
Trevor Romain, a local children’s author, will host a workshop where kids can
help him develop the characters in his new TV/books series. Romain also will
sign copies of his books, The Boy Who Swallowed a Rainbow, Silent Voice, and The Little People’s Guide to the Big World…. Lama Norlha will
discuss Tibetan Buddhism and the chapter he wrote for Kalu Rinpoche’s book,

SELL! SELL!,” a nonfiction magazine writing conference Nov. 2-3 at the North
Hilton. Ten editors from national and regional magazines will share
perspectives on trends in magazine publishing and strategies for breaking into
