Remember those personalized Santa letters your parents used to get faked for you as a kid? Well, who’s to say what you can and can’t put in those little holes, now that you are a totally grown, responsible adult?
A friend of ours is running the Austin franchise of Original Santa Mail, so we thought we’d try it out.
We sent one to our 21-year-old son who is currently on the west coast serving with AmeriCorps. As with Mad Libs, you get a prompt and put in a word. In the “accomplishments” section, where Santa waxes on about why he’s most proud of the letter recipient, we put:
Thank you for being such a good dude all year! Mrs. Claus and I are so proud of you for hard work in AmeriCorps and for not getting wasted or anyone pregnant! Congratulations!
We have yet to see how this goes over, but the mere thought of this soaring through the U.S. Postal Service on its way to our kid makes us grin.
Anyhoo, there is still time to get your letter out in time. For a quick $10, you can send your own ho ho hos out for the holidays.
