The Association of Writers and Writing Programs‘ annual conference, taking place this year here, started on Wednesday and runs through Saturday, March 11. This is a pretty big deal, with events at the Austin Convention Center and Hilton. See www.awpwriter.org/conference/2006awpconf.htm for all of the details, but do keep in mind an outside-AWP event at BookPeople, Saturday, 6pm: Utter’s special Pindeldyboyz edition features Randa Jarrar, S. Kirk Walsh, Kate Hill Cantrill, and Whitney Pastorek, as well as music, food, and even more fun, if that’s remotely possible.
