Saturday, June 24, 8am-2pm The East Side Community Farmer’s Market is hosting its third annual Peach
Jamboree. While listening to live music, you can: taste some jams, buy some
peaches, hear some stories, have your face painted, and watch a canning

Kerbey Lane Tomato Fest

Sunday, June 25, 8am-1pm; free admission Guy Clark was right when he said, “There’s only two things that money can’t
buy, and that’s love and homegrown tomatoes!” And so the folks at Kerbey Lane
Cafes invite you to their first annual Tomato Fest on Saturday, June 25, behind
the South Austin location. Kerbey Lane was the first local restaurant to work
directly with a local grower, Cora Lamar at Lamar Farms, to provide a a
vine-ripened crop specifically for them.
The festival will feature speakers on a variety of tomato topics plus a
tomato contest and a tomato-based recipe contest. Prizes, T-shirts, lots of
food featuring vine-ripened tomatoes, and a live broadcast of KLBJ-AM’s
Gardening Naturally will round out the morning’s events. There will also
be a small Farmer’s Market featuring great organic and/or pesticide-free
produce from Craftsman Farm, Boggy Creek farm, San Gabriel Farm, Harbison Farm,
and Prehan Farm. Send in the Reserves

Monday, June 26, 7pm; $70 per person Just on the heels of their wildly successful Black Tie Cigar Dinner
benefiting Oklahoma bombing victims, Sfuzzi will host a Robert Mondavi Wine
Dinner on June 26. Chef Louis Halfant will prepare sumptuous appetizers and a
five-course meal; diners will also have the opportunity to sample the
increasingly rare 1978 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve. Guests will also
sample the 1988 vintage Cabernet, as well as the 1987 and 1982 vintages of the
Mondavi Reserve Chardonnay. Seating is limited; call 476-8100 for
reservations.

Tuesday, June 27, 7:30pm; $55 per person
Wine curator George Gaston and chef Stephen McInerney will present a
Reserve Chardonnay Dinner on June 27. The appetizers and five-course meal will
be accompanied by an interesting selection of Reserve Chardonnay vintages from
Flora Spring, Cuvaison, Cambria, Raymond, Cakebread, and Silverado. For

Fiesta de Libros con Tequila! The folks at Granite Cafe are also throwing a book-signing party for
popular Austin author Lucinda Hutson on Sunday, June 25, 3-6pm. Sample
Lucinda’s tropical tequila punch, prickly pear margaritas, and festive party
fare, and then purchase copies of Hutson’s wonderful books, Tequila!:
Cooking With the Spirit of Mexico and The Herb Garden, autographed
by the author herself. Mariachi Estrella will play. (Rumor is that Hutson never
leaves home without them!)
