What's the half-life of an Austin icon? Credit: Todd V. Wolfson

By now, most everyone knows that Atomic City, Austin’s utterly unique l’il purveyor of collectible toys, punk-Ts, Fluevogs, and more is going out of business. But not as soon as everyone thought.

Equally eccentric/adorable owner Prince has decided to extend his closing sale (half off everything) through at least October 17. There’s still a healthy selection of apparel, books, Zippos, toys, and more, and he brings more delights out of storage every day. Drop by for one last twirl around the iconic Austin business and pick up some nifty stuff you might not see around these parts again any time soon.

Atomic City hours as follows, through Oct. 17: Monday – Friday: noon-5pm; Saturday & Sunday: noon-6pm. (Closed Sunday, Oct. 3. Resumes for above hours Monday, Oct. 4.)
