In an old house off South First, tucked into the inside of Plantescape Nurseries, is a small space known as Diaz Gallery. The space was formed as a labor of love by Adam Diaz, a friendly soul who seeks to represent those artists who are passionate and involved with their work. Two rooms in the interior of the establishment are fully devoted to art; additional works spill out into adjoining areas to complement arrangements of plants and locally produced crafts. Currently on display are the paintings of Christopher Fitzgerald. Swirled abstractions of thickly poured and scraped paint are displayed alongside representational landscape pieces, in which the paint is so thickly applied as to take on a fully three-dimensional character. Also showing in the space are white-on-white cast paper works and contemporary sculptures in fine woods by Andrew Ebbesen Davis and photography by Blake Yantis. Closing reception: Friday, Jan. 28, 7-10pm.
