Utter, which welcomes everyone but features the likes of Scott Blackwood, Chronicle contributor Maria Hong, Vicente Lozano, and Philip Pardi, is back after three years, and will “revive their community reading series” at the Cactus Cafe on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 5:30pm… At Barnes & Noble Guadalupe the next day, Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 5pm, Janet Davis will read from, discuss, and sign her Circus Age: Culture and Society Under the American Big Top. Both of these highly recommended events are early: You will beat traffic and you will avoid the drunk and degenerate.
