365 Days/365 Plays started in November 2002, when Suzan-Lori Parks committed to writing a play a day for the next 365 days. From Nov. 13, 2006, to Nov. 12, 2007, the 365 Days/365 Plays National Festival will present the work simultaneously in more than 15 communities across the country, creating the largest collaboration in the history of American theatre. The Austin part of the festival kicks off Friday, Nov. 17, 8pm, at the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge over Town Lake. All seven plays from the first week will be performed with the playwright in attendance. The plays will be performed again prior to the performances of Plaid Tidings on Saturday (7pm) and Sunday (1:30pm) at the Zach Groten Stage in the former bike shop on Toomey.
