Moontower Comedy Festival

Fusebox Festival: Tanya Tagaq

Stateside at the Paramount, Fusebox Festival stages art in all its forms, but you won’t find a more perfect cross-pollination than this. Blending real and staged sequences, the portrayal of the Inuit way of life in 1922 silent Nanook of the North set a standard for documentary film as artistic statement. Who better to provide a live soundtrack than avant-garde Inuit throat singer Tanya Tagaq, belle of the SXSW ball and as adventurous and uncompromising an artist as currently exists? For the low price of free, not to be missed. Doors at 7pm, show at 8pm.

Cap City Comedy Club, That's Mac Blake and Joe Hafkey, of course: those Jazz Cigarette guys, are now taking over the Cap City reins. Blake and Hafkey will be filling each Tuesday with loads of talented locals, so book your seats early. Tuesdays, 8pm.
