The fourth-seeded Texas Stars begin play in the first round of the American Hockey League Calder Cup playoffs this Thursday (April 14) in Milwaukee vs. the West Division leading Admirals. They return home to the Cedar Park Center for games three (Tuesday), four (Wednesday), and five (Friday, if necessary). The Stars made an amazing playoff run last year (their first season!) falling only to the Hershey Bears in the Calder Cup Finals, four games to two. That playoff run was led by now-Dallas Star Jamie Benn; this year it’s Greg Rallo (pictured), who leads the Stars in goals (26), points (54), shots on goal (254), and has been a team leader for the team’s entire, albeit short, existence. These games are likely to sell out, so get your tickets now by calling 512/GO-STARS or pointing your browser to www.texasstarshockey.com. Vs. Milwaukee: Tue., April 19, 7:30pm; Wed., April 20, 7:30pm; Fri., April 22, 7:30pm (if needed). Cedar Park Center, 2100 Avenue of the Stars, Cedar Park, 512/467-8277. $12-50.
