“Wow — The Beatles! Aren’t they the swingin’, livin’ end?” enthuses the earnest teen in this rare promotion for the Fab Four’s Closed Circuit television appearance. Saturated with bright yellows and oranges, the promotion also features a series of classic Beatles headshots spinning around in a hypnotic circle. Very groovy, indeed. Due to a collaboration with the Hollywood Attic, Bijou Cafe plays host to classic, rarely seen clips like this series, which also includes an early interview with the playful foursome on British television and a clip from Albert and David Maysles’ television tour diary, “What’s Happening: The Beatles in the U.S.A.” For any Beatles fan (and, really, who isn’t?), it’s worth a trip. Or as the kid in the promotion might say: “I’ll borrow wheels and we’ll go, girl, go!”
