After a triple-digit summer, 90 degrees actually does feel like autumn. For a minute or so, anyway. And then your sunglasses start sliding down your nose, and the sweat in your eyes obstructs your view of the stage, and it’s time for another temperature drop, at which point you should really head on over to Barton Springs‘ three acres of 68-degree bliss. Just a short jaunt from the festival grounds, you can take a dip with the turtles and the salamanders and be back just in time for the next set.
2101 Barton Springs Rd. Hours: 5am-10pm. Admission: $3, adults; $2, juniors; $1, kids under 11/seniors over 61 (all admission is free 5-9am & 9-10pm). Call 867-3080 for information on pool closings due to rain. No food, drinks, or smokes.
