Nationally known education historian and researcher Diane Ravitch (l) greets a crowd of public school advocates at a Save Texas Schools march and rally at the Capitol on Feb. 23. An estimated 10,000-plus people traveled to Austin from across Texas to publicly demand that legislators bolster school funding and reform the state’s method of standardized testing. The event kicked off with a march to the Capitol that included members of the Eastside Memorial Band (above).
