Hey there, the Hustle here. City Council meets today, and believe it or not, we’ve got a working computer with us, so we’ll try to keep you updated on the morning’s action. Crazy, ain’t it? Get familiar with the agenda here, and watch for updates after the jump.

10:34am: THIS JUST IN: The mayor’s microphone is broken. Ooops – now it’s fixed. “Welcome back,” says Mike Martinez. And that’s it for the morning agenda – council is off into Executive Session. Well, thanks for following us on this not terribly exciting morning.

10:32am: On to Item 26, creating a “Leadership Committee” on supportive housing strategy for the homeless.

10:26am: Moving on to items from council, specifically the SoCo parking resolution. Have a feeling this morning’s going to wrap up pretty shortly. Morrison ensuring the resolution has language bringing an existing citizen group discussing parking benefits district to the table. Passes in 3, 2, 1… Done.

10:24am: There’s an app for that: Laura Morrison suggests creating an app for people to send in photos of obscured signs and the like, to assist the Transportation Dept.

10:17am: Sheryl Cole pulls Item 11, partnering with Lifeworks, presumably to put some shine on their good work. Now, Item 12, a $235,000 settlement in a car crash the complainant says was caused by an obscured stop sign.

10:12am: Enviro Scott Johnson speaking on (already passed) Item 16, partnering with Cap Metro to build ADA-approved bus stops – concerned about environmental impact of concrete production. Now, cabbie advocate D’Ann Johnson, speaking in favor of Item 8, building a climate controlled rest space at the airport for taxi drivers. Hammering council on other policies, including potential permitting of golf carts and other taxi alternatives, which would create an “unlimited numbers of competition against the taxi drivers.”

10:07am: Changes and corrections: Item 2, changing disclosure requirements for Austin Energy, withdrawn, along with both 10:30am briefings. Should be a quick morning, readers!

Items 11, 12, 23, 24 and 25 pulled from the consent agenda. Consent passes.
