Feels So Good has moved from its Alpine location in South Austin following a $13,000 per month rent increase, the company announced last weekend. The screenprinters/record label/vintage store/event throwers now inhabit two spaces: a retail location at 609 E. Seventh Downtown and a production facility at 9204 Brown in North Austin. “Not having our event space any longer is the biggest punch in the gut,” the company wrote in a press release, referring to the downsize from their former location’s 15,000-square-foot home, “but we’ll still do some in-store performances at our new retail shop and hopefully collaborate with some other places in town for larger pop-ups and maybe another FSG Fest.”
Die Spitz have signed to Jack White’s Third Man Records. The beloved Austin quartet, previously a part of local nonprofit label Spaceflight Records’ roster, headlined Third Man’s joint CREEM Magazine showcase at South by Southwest earlier this month. Along with the level up, the band announced a world tour kicking off in May with dates across the United States and Europe.
The Austin Symphony has announced its 2025-2026 season. Dubbed “Where Music Comes Alive!,” the orchestra’s 115th edition launches in September with new iterations of its Masterworks and Butler Pops series. Stefan Jackiw launches the former, which also promises performances of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, with Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto 2; the latter, which focuses on selections from pop culture, homes in on soundtracks from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Home Alone.
