If, like us, you’re a longtime fan of Easy Tiger and you’ve been not-so-secretly wishing the beloved bake shop would move closer to your North Central stomping grounds, well, dreams come true, friends. Easy Tiger is hitting The Linc (I-35 and Airport Blvd.), and we’ve got the latest photos of their sparkly new space.
Slated for a late November 2018 opening, the fourth location (they’re currently on Sixth Street, Fareground, and at Whole Foods in Cedar Park) is near ACC Highland and boasts almost 12,000 square feet of space. They’ll have a huge commercial bakery to meet their ever-increasing demand, which means you’ll never have to miss out on your beloved beer cheese and warm pretzels again, and the food menu offerings are expanding even past their wonderful breads, pastries, pastrami, and cheese boards. It’s also worth noting that Austin Film Society’s theatre is in that same shopping center, and to be clear, enjoying adult beverages on an enormous beer garden and then popping in for a film (or vice versa!) is pretty much the best way to spend an evening.
The new site will also include a drive-through coffee bar, 150 outdoor seats, ping-pong tables, and an outdoor stage for live music. And yes, for those of you accustomed to sprawling parking lots, there’s plenty here. Guests will be able to peek into the various baking, fermentation, and sausage/charcuterie production departments through specially-designed windows, and baking classes hosted by head baker David Norman will be held onsite.
It takes an army to run an operation as big as this one, so Easy Tiger is hosting a job fair at the original downtown location (709 E. 6th St.) from 3-6pm on Oct. 15 – 19, Oct. 22 – 26, and Oct. 29 – Nov. 2. See their website and social media pages for more details.
