Austin’s own Southside Flying Pizza is celebrating 15 years of business this year, and they’re kicking off that celebration by giving away free slices of their round & savory noms at all locations from 3-5pm on Tuesday, February 9th.

Yes, citizen, that’s on National Pizza Day.
Mind you, now, those free slices are one slice per person, for dine-in only … but surely you’re familiar with the old Sicilian saying: “Hey, free pizza is free pizza,” right?
Also, if you’re familiar with Southside itself, you’ll be glad (and possibly drooling) to know that, starting that same day, they’re inaugurating a year-long run of $13 OG pies from their original 2006 menu – and sales of those OG pies will benefit local charities throughout the year. First up, February & March’s OG ’za is The Sword (with marinara, spinach, mozzarella, mushroooms, salami, herbed ricotta, romano & parmesan cheese) – and $1 of each Sword sold will go to the Central Texas Food Bank.
[Note: We like the Central Texas Food Bank, and we like this deal.]
OK, now take a look at that guy in the accompanying photo: That’s Southside Flying Pizza founder Art Goldstein. Doesn’t he look happy? Yes, he does; and why is he happy? Partly because he knows that he makes one hell of a tasty pizza. And his people – in the six Southside locations around the ATX, not even counting the new one in Houston – they also make tasty pizzas. And now’s a good time for you to discover that for yourself, if you haven’t before. And, yeah, to get a slice for free on Tuesday – which would make anyone happy.
Just thought you’d like to know.
