Named Boston University’s Helen Deutsch Fellow in Creative Writing in 1997, Karl Monger took just enough time off from watching Frontline, The Simpsons, The Sopranos, Law & Order, The Antiques Roadshow, The PJs, King of the Hill, and reruns of The Larry Sanders Show to write “A Day.” He lives and works in Austin.
Sharon L. Dutton
Sharon L. Dutton was sown in upstate New York, where she attended several schools of hard knocks, earning a street degree from Howard University. Ms. Dutton moved to Austin in 1985, where she has been continuously watered. She harvested a bachelor’s in mass communications from SWT in August 1998 and has been seeking employment ever since. Inquiries within. “Hard Water” will be turned into a novel.
Amanda Eyre Ward
Amanda Eyre Ward was born in New York City in 1972. She received her BA from Williams College and her MFA from the University of Montana. Amanda has just finished her first novel, Between a River and a Sea. She currently lives in Austin with her dog Arlee, her cat Billie, and her fiance, the geologist Tip Meckel. She is at work on her second novel.
Jackie Dana
Jackie Dana works best when doing 1,000 things at once. She’s an academic advisor, a card-carrying Wobbly (x348182), and a mostly unpublished writer. She is devoted to the pursuit of social justice, with a particular passion for Irish politics and history. Writing, meanwhile, helps her cling to sanity. Her “Labor 101” column runs monthly in The Working Stiff Journal.
