    Camp Idylwood Horse Camp

Camp Idylwood offers more horse time than most other kids' camps, beginning with four contact hours in the morning, interspersed with breaks to keep young minds fresh. Children will then learn basics under careful supervision from experienced riders. Idylwood also prides itself on its gardens and natural water features. Campers will hunt for fossils, look for critters, and learn how horses and people work to create soil together through composting. They'll also learn some gardening basics in Idylwood’s butterfly garden and community vegetable and herb gardens, fish for bass and blue gill, and practice archery on the oak-shaded rolling hills of the property.
    May 31-Aug. 13. $400.
Idylwood Stables, 12608 Harris Branch Pkwy.

    Davis Gallery: Altered Allusions

When an image is stripped of its clarity, we are left with two things: an allusion to something familiar and the viewer's interpretation. These provocative new works by Nate Szarmach explore the space between image and interpretation, uncovering the ways that familiar religious imagery, cultural christianity, and personal history influence our spirituality. Our Robert Faires reviews the show right here.

    Flatbed Press: Transcending Language

This is a collection of works created by artists at Flatbed whose practice has focused entirely on non-objective abstraction, the exhibition curated out of the studio's deep archive of works from the 30 years they've operated as a collaborative print studio in Austin. As music can transcend words, so visual abstraction transcends audible language as well."
