    The Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies at The University of Texas at Austin will host a free pre-college showcase for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors.     Future of Downtown: Downtown on Demand

    The Downtown Austin Alliance presents a celebration of the org's 30 years, highlighting findings from the annual State of Downtown report with a look toward the future. Keynote speaker SaulPaul shares wisdom and insight, and local artists and musicians provide entertainment. Tickets include food and drinks, swag, and a copy of the report, and every dollar raised supports DAA programs.

    Blue Genie Art Bazaar's May Market

    We always shop Blue Genie Art Bazaar during the winter holiday season, but we don't have to wait seven more months! At this spring market, see the work of more than 100 regional artisans and craftspeople and pick up gifts for Mother's or Father's Day, graduation, weddings, or any other spring/summer occasion. Raffles, samples, and demos will be offered throughout the show.

    This program from the city of Austin, run by Farmshare Austin, has opened new market locations. There are now six weekly markets around town that sell Texas-grown produce, eggs, honey, and other groceries all at reduced prices. Most major cards are accepted at these markets and if you are a SNAP customer, you can also use your Lone Star card and Double Up Food Bucks. Locations and schedules are subject to change, so check the current info online to find one near you.
