Texas Burlesque Festival
Looking for an exciting, titillating night out? You'll find it over three days at this festival featuring the legendary Penny Starr Sr., fresh off her appearance on America’s Got Talent and this year's reigning King of Burlesque, P. NoNoire. With too much talent to fit in the originally planned two days, they added a Thursday mixer and performance at Kick Butt Coffee (5775 Airport), with the remaining shows at the Long Center.May 11-13. This program from the city of Austin, run by Farmshare Austin, has opened new market locations. There are now six weekly markets around town that sell Texas-grown produce, eggs, honey, and other groceries all at reduced prices. Most major cards are accepted at these markets and if you are a SNAP customer, you can also use your Lone Star card and Double Up Food Bucks.
