Ben McReynolds has donated his extensive and unique collection to the museum. It will be on view for a year along with the permanent collection that includes artifacts from La Belle, the French ship discovered in Matagorda Bay; the story of ranching on the coast; and more than 13,000 years of Texas history.

Portraits of the former president and first lady by Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherald are on view before moving to the National Portrait Gallery.
