    Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission Meeting

    Commissioners will review, discuss, and potentially adopt the second draft of the preliminary map of Austin’s new City Council districts. If the ICRC does not adopt the map at this meeting, then it will meet again on Thu., Sept. 16, at 6pm, to adopt it.

    Shoal Creek Social

    Celebrate the beauty of Shoal Creek with two weeks of fun and education, including a fundraiser, hangouts, and a scavenger hunt. Hangouts are scheduled for Saturdays, 9am-1pm, at Duncan Park and Northwest District Park, and will include lots of family fun like games and tours. Throughout the social, contribute to help reach the $25k fundraising goal, and learn about the area by finding items on the scavenger hunt like flora & fauna, structures, and natural features.

The city's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is putting together a calendar that will feature elementary schoolchildren's artwork that's focused on the topic of disaster preparedness.     Ben McReynolds has donated his extensive and unique collection to the museum. It will be on view for a year along with the permanent collection that includes artifacts from La Belle, the French ship discovered in Matagorda Bay; the story of ranching on the coast; and more than 13,000 years of Texas history.

    YMCA Early Learning Readiness Program
