Commissioners will review, discuss, and potentially adopt the second draft of the preliminary map of Austin’s new City Council districts. If the ICRC does not adopt the map at this meeting, then it will meet again on Thu., Sept. 16, at 6pm, to adopt it.

Enjoy a classic cocktail for a cause during this week, when bartenders all over town whip up negronis and proceeds go to a variety of charity partners. Just to name a few participating venues: Irene's and Central Standard collect for the Restaurant Workers' Community Foundation, Little Nicky's and Il Brutto raise funds for the Southern Smoke Foundation ... there are too many to list! Celebrate the beauty of Shoal Creek with two weeks of fun and education, including a fundraiser, hangouts, and a scavenger hunt. Hangouts are scheduled for Saturdays, 9am-1pm, at Duncan Park and Northwest District Park, and will include lots of family fun like games and tours. Throughout the social, contribute to help reach the $25k fundraising goal, and learn about the area by finding items on the scavenger hunt like flora & fauna, structures, and natural features.

Experience the joy of ice cream at this imaginative and immersive museum filled with installations and fun for kids and adults.

Ben McReynolds has donated his extensive and unique collection to the museum. It will be on view for a year along with the permanent collection that includes artifacts from La Belle, the French ship discovered in Matagorda Bay; the story of ranching on the coast; and more than 13,000 years of Texas history.

This powerful show, a traveling exhibition organized by the New-York Historical Society, explores the transformative years after the Civil War and the rise of Jim Crow, centering on stories of African Americans who pursued the ideals of Reconstruction and persevered in the face of a developing legal system promoting racial inequality.
