If you’re a dedicated Qmmunity reader – or just a cultured Austinite – you know that shopping queer is a year-round affair around ATX. There’s the Little Gay Shop over on 12th and Chicon, BookWoman on North Lamar, Reverie Books on Menchaca, and that’s only naming the ones where you can get a copy of Sister Outsider and a F*ck Ted Cruz sticker.

But Pride Month offers new opportunities to assist the community via non-gay businesses selling rainbow merch with proceeds donated to local nonprofits. We’ve got consummate queer supporters Jo’s Coffee – whose iconic graffiti was lesbian drama-inspired – with their yearly Pride coffee bean boxes. Jo’s barista and artist Reilly Salness created 2025’s mosaic rainbow design, and two bucks of every purchase go into Transgender Education Network of Texas’ coffers. Still hungry? Try one of Bakery Lorraine’s Pride donuts (glazed, rainbow icing splattered, and benefiting community foundation QWELL) or a shortbread sweet treat from any Quack’s cookie case (this month flashing rainbow realness in flower, duck, and iconic upside-down U form). But this is Austin we’re talking about, so you’re probably hoping for a supportive smoothie after a hike. How about you slurp up a Soup Peddler selection and round-up your purchase? The extra dollarinos go directly to Out Youth, our friendly neighborhood safe space for LGBTQ youth.
